| Joining I.D.K.F
Imperial Dragon Kung Fu welcomes everyone who is interested in studying the Martial Art with an open door policy, no booking or appointments are needed. Anyone over 6 year’s old male or female, immaterial of your reasons for joining ... be that fitness, competitive, a desire to teach someday, etc. All you need to do to join IDKF is come along to a class and speak to one of are sifu’s (instructors) and you will be able to join in then and there ... of course if you are under 18 then, for legal reason, you will need to bring a parent/guardian with you at this time. Making up your mind... You are welcome to drop in and observe a class at anytime and ask any questions that you may have. The first time you attend IDKF is free to give you an idea if IDKF is for you, and from then on it costs £3 per class. If you would like more information on any thing to do with IDKF you can also contact us by e-mail. Equipment and clothing... You do not need to bring any special equipment to start Kung Fu, all you need, depending on the time of year is a loose pair of trousers eg. track bottoms, shorts and a plan t-shirt. Kung Fu suits can be bought from IDKF, at a lower cost than from specialist shops. When you are training it is essential that you take off any jewellery (apart from glasses and any medical alert type jewellery ... though wedding rings can stay on but preferably taped over with medical taping) for your sfatey as well as that of others that you are training with. It is recommended that you actually leave any valuables at home. Any equipment that you will need as you progress can be obtained from IDKF when needed. Health problems... You can still attend classes with most health problems but in some extremes cases a letter will be required from a parent are even a doctor. It is important that problems with your health and any injuries are made known to the instructors before training starts and any medication that you may need is with you (for example inhalers). If you would like a child to start Kung Fu that has a serious health problem that the child is incapable of monitoring, it is required that there is some form of responsible supervision with the child during the class, they do not need to join in Kung Fu just be there to monitor the child. |
